I’m new to Ebay as I have started selling my moms collection of dolls and other collectibles. When viewing the ebay forums the general attitude is very poor towards ebay as they seem to have changed into something not friendly towards the mom and pop sellers. I bought this book looking for some tips on getting into the somewhat hostile Ebay market and finished it with mixed opinions.

Very Good Guide on Ebay

The book lives up to its title. It is “eBay 101” – your basic, but comprehensive guide to getting started with ebay. Having bought other books I did manage to pick up a thing or two, but mostly this book is geared for the newbie. Plus it is a little dated but not outdated as other reviews have stated/suggested. All in all, a very good value for the money spent. No home runs here, but base hit for sure. 4 Stars

such as how best to photograph and display

This wasn’t what I wanted. I don’t want to set up a shop in eBay. I just want to sell a few things. And I wanted really nitty-gritty advice, such as how best to photograph and display, etc. This book is oriented towards someone who wishes to do a great deal of trading on eBay, rather than a person with a couple of things to sell.

Lots of information for the newcommer to eBay

I had already had some initial experience with eBay, and I was having problems. eBay has a shower of information and explanation, but I found difficult to get quick answers to specific, more detailed questions. So I decided to buy a book.
